Admittedly it's a tad worrisome wondering what the heck I've gotten myself into travelling to India on the heels of the Commonwealth Games debacle, terrorist threats, history-making monsoons and the likes. I'm just trying to keep an open mind, mentally steeling myself for complete and utter chaos. In the midst of it all I can appreciate why meditation is going to be such an important part of these travels.

I've been voraciously consuming anything and everything India or Buddhist oriented. Watched two magical documentaries last week: "The Wheel" and "Unmistaken Child". This morning I stumbled across a CBC blogger's accounts as she weaves her way through parts of the country en route to the Games. To quote a line on her arrival to Mumbai: "Drunk with sleep, I stumbled out of the airport and let the mosquitos have their first taste." Yikes. After travels to Peru I didn't really want to be taking an anti-malarial and said as much to the travel clinic nurse. But good old GP Brendan insisted otherwise. And in view of the reported outbreak of Denegue (sp) fever in Delhi, I suppose it's a good thing after all.

Well, incense is wafting here in the office; such a calming element. Twenty-two sleeps til departure...

They call it Delhi Belly for a reason. Don't take any chances!
